Brent Leonesio

Brent Leonesio is a Los Angeles-based artist and self-taught perfumer who founded the indie perfume brand Smell Bent in 2009 after being inspired by a bottle of Hermès Eau D'Orange Vert at age 12 and using unemployment checks to order raw materials and teach himself perfumery. With a background in art and art history from Sarah Lawrence College, as well as experience in graphic and fashion design, he creates playful, humorous, and affordable fragrances like Prairie Nymph, Hungry Hungry Hippies, Walk of Shame, and collaborations such as Accident with the Institute for Art and Olfaction. His work blends olfactory art with visual elements, drawing from personal experiences and irreverent influences to merge content, context, and joy in perfumery.
