This candle from MATIERE PREMIERE beautifully captures the pure, fresh essence of Centifolia rose, specifically evoking an early May morning harvest in the Grasse region. It aims to distill that luminous, dewy moment when the roses are still on the bushes, exhaling their most tender and natural perfume. The scent is designed to feel fresh, airy, and quietly radiant, transforming any space into a breath of morning in the South of France. Founder and Perfumer Aurélien Guichard's vision was to create candles that truly smell like natural materials, focusing on a specific olfactive moment of the raw ingredient.

About MATIERE PREMIERE
Matière Première is a luxury fragrance brand founded by Aurélien Guichard, a perfumer who uniquely grows his own fragrance ingredients including Rose Centifolia, Tuberose, and Lavandin in the Grasse region of France. The brand's philosophy centers on revealing the raw beauty of natural materials by building each fragrance around one central natural ingredient used in high concentration (85-92% natural ingredients), creating bold, linear, and immediately identifiable signatures with lasting sillage.
Aurélien Guichard, born in Grasse, France, is a seventh-generation perfumer from a family of flower growers and perfumers, including his father who was also a perfumer. He trained at the Givaudan school and built a distinguished 20+ year career creating blockbuster fragrances like Gucci Guilty and Tom Ford’s Soleil de Positano, while working for companies such as Givaudan and Takasago. In 2016, he established an organic Rose Centifolia farm in Grasse, founding Matière Première in 2019 to champion farm-to-fragrance luxury perfumery using his own cultivated ingredients.
