Mauricio Garcia is an animistic perfumer and certified aromatherapist based in South San Francisco, inspired by his Mexican grandmother's fragrant garden, the Bay Area's foggy ecology, and ancestral traditions. With 18 years of learning from herbalists, master perfumers, and spiritual practitioners, he founded Herbcraft Perfumery, creating 'eau d’esprit' or fragrant enchantments using sustainable accords and modern techniques to honor nature and facilitate spiritual connections. He co-founded the Coalition of Sustainable Perfumery, teaches workshops, and donates proceeds from scents like Ofrenda to farmworker justice organizations.
