Arnaud Poulain, born in 1986 in Arras, France, transitioned from mechanical engineering and ice-cream production to perfumery after discovering the field in 2007, training at Cinquième Sens in Paris under mentor Amélie Bourgeois. He founded Les Eaux Primordiales in 2015, a traditional yet visionary perfume manufacture in Acq near Arras, producing over 25 high-end fragrances across collections like Supercritique, Superfluide, and Superclassique, emphasizing scientific inspiration, year-long maceration, and innovative blends of natural and synthetic materials. His unconventional path as a self-described 'scent mechanic' has earned him recognition as one of the most extraordinary creators of his generation.
