Stephen Nilsen is an American perfumer with a background in chemical engineering, holding a Bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD from Stanford University. He began his career as a flavorist at Procter & Gamble before transitioning to perfumery at Quest International (now Givaudan), where he serves as a Senior/VP Perfumer in the fine fragrance division in New York. Known for his refined, meticulously balanced compositions that blend scientific precision with emotional storytelling, he has created fragrances for major brands and niche projects, including Anthropologie’s 5 O’Clock At Belvoir Castle.
